Tesla, a unit that teachers had taught in your classes and probably calculates values of magnetic induction or magnetic flux density. It is named on the Nikola Tesla. It’s his 163th Birthday.

Nikola Tesla is one of the top Serbian-American engineer and well-known physicists. As you are enjoying electricity/power at home, it’s because of him only. Tesla is responsible for filing 300 patents and led many inventions for the electric motors, alternating current, three phase system for electrical power transmission, fluorescent lights, lasers, radios, remote controllers and various other inventions.

Actually, Tesla changed the original life into a bright and innovative one. His ideas are still implementing as they led to the various invention even after his death.

Similar to other extraordinary artist and inventors, the reputation of Tesla has given enthusiasm to modern science and created a strong history. He is not only part of science but also a character in the popular online comic “The Oatmeal”.

For his birthday, let’s recall his major contribution to science. Have a look here:

1. The technology of remote control

He has a major contribution in developing the remote control devices. He also demonstrated his inventions by showing them to the government and he has a belief that this would probably help in developing remote-controlled weapons for the country.

2. The invention of the first robot

Tesla has created one of the first robots as remote controlled boat and that’s why he is called as the father of robotics. The best examples of his inventions are R2D2 and Google self-driving cars.

3. The invention of Electrical Motors

Tesla is also named for the world largest electric car company as Nikola Tesla first invented the AC motor in 1888. After some duration, Tesla Roadster’s motor is an example or we can say that it is a descendant of Tesla’s invention.

4. The radio

An Italian scientist Guglielmo Marconi had claimed that he has founded the concept and invented the radio but it was found that Tesla already developed his first radio transmission in 1901 and has submitted a patent regarding this. This situation is resolved by the US Supreme Court and favoured the case on the side of Tesla.

5. The invention of lighting in the form of neon and fluorescence

Tesla also worked for inventing both neon and fluorescence lighting. Thereafter, various modifications have been done to create better and better lighting tubes that you might at your home.

6. Development of three phase system for electrical power transmission

He also led to the development of the largest power transmission system and this greatly helped in the light transmission for various industries.
