Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main is a national level undergraduate engineering entrance exam to be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to B.Tech/B.E. programmes in 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 23 CFTIs.
JEE Main 2019 will be a computer-based test to be held from January 6 to 20 and again from April 6 to 20. The examination will be held only during weekends.
Each JEE Main will consist of two papers. The Paper 1 will be for B.Tech / B.E admission, whereas, for Paper 2 those candidates will apply who wish to pursue the B.Arch / B.Plan course.
According to the latest notification released by NTA, JEE Main 2019 Paper II will be conducted as both computer-based (Mathematics and Aptitude) and pen and paper based test (Drawing).
JEE Main applications for the April exam will be available from February 8th to March 7th. There will be no change in the syllabus, exam pattern, fee or language of the exam. The exam date and shift will be assigned randomly to the students and the details mentioned in admit card. What’s New in JEE Main 2019?
- National Testing Agency (NTA) has taken over from CBSE and will be conducting the exam twice a year – one in January and one in April.
- Age Limit has been removed and candidates who have passed their class 12 in 2017, 2018 or are appearing in 2019 can apply irrespective of their age.
- The application fee for JEE Main 2019 has been reduced for candidates belonging to different categories.
- 1.5 lakh common service centres have been mentioned where students can fill the application, pay fees, upload documents, download admit card and all such activities at a nominal fee.
- Paper I will be conducted in two shifts per day whereas Paper II will be held in one shift.
- The exam will be computer-based from 2019. However, the drawing section of Paper 2 will be conducted as a pen and paper-based test.
- 2697 Practice centres have been set up across the country where students can go to prepare. Students can register for the second batch from September 10 to September 14.
- Mock tests/ Sample Papers are now available for candidates to download and practice at home or at the centres set up for this purpose.
- Candidates can appear in one or both the exams. The better of the scores will be considered for admissions.
- There will be no change in exam pattern, syllabus, fees or language of the exam.
- The exam will be held on multiple sessions across days with 2 lakh candidates per session. The total slots will be eight for both the January and April exams.
- Number of test cities have been increased to 264 and those abroad have been reduced to 9 .

How to Fill JEE Main 2019 Application Form
The main steps to fill the application form of JEE Main 2019 are listed below for the candidates to refer:
- Registration – Firstly, the candidates will have to register using their name, date of birth, identification ID and more details.
- Filling of Online Application Form – Personal, academic, exam related and contact details have to be submitted by the candidates.
- Uploading of Scanned Documents – The required documents have to be submitted by the candidates.
- Payment of Examination Fees – The fee has to be paid in online or offline mode.
- Print out of Acknowledgement Page – Finally, the four copies of the acknowledgement slip has to be downloaded and printed out by the candidates .

Payment mode of Examination Fee
For payment of the examination fee, the candidates will be able to select online or offline mode. If the candidate wishes to pay in offline mode then he will have to download the e-challan and deposit the fees at any SBI branch. For payment through online mode, any one of the following modes can be used:
- Net Banking
- Credit Card
- Debit Card
The payment status will be updated after the fee is paid by the candidates. For candidates opting the offline mode, a reprint of the e-challan can be taken out their the SBI online website after submitting the required credentials.
