Joint Entrance Examination which is the doorway to many significant and prestigious institutes like IITs, NITs, will be conducted online from next year. The decision is taken by the Joint Admission Board (JAB) to evaluate the result in a more logistic and easier way.

The joint admission board (JAB), also announced that it will do away with multiple choice questions (MCQ) and instead opt for short answer type questions.

The whole process of getting admission however remains the same i.e. the students need to get through the JEE Main to appear for the JEE Advance. The government decided to introduce the online exam for the JEE Main, but JAB decided to outspread it to JEE Advance.

Every year approximately 13 Lakhs students appear for the JEE Mains where just 10% of them appear online. But now everyone has to appear at the online system. According to the source, the concept of this online system was prevailing for many years but the implementation took some time, as said by a JAB Member. In addition to this, a JAB Member also stated that this move will create a transparency and avoid leaking of paper too.

The government and the JAB team is working hard to make this event a success. So, they have decided to conduct a training facility for the students before the exam where they will be given a hand on experience over the computer and will also be allowed to give mock tests and assessment to get used to the system. Moreover, the schools will also be instructed to allow students to practice on computers to get a good grip before the examination.

The online system however has various benefits within itself. As mentioned earlier it will create a transparency and avoid leaking of papers. In addition to it, preparing question papers online can help judge the difficulty level from low to medium to high. The online exam will even neutralize the problem of misprinting, which is greatly faced by the students appearing for the offline mode of examination.

A recent incident in 2017 examination where some questions being incorrect was raised by some students. To meet the students’ query the council decided to grant 18 marks bonus to all the students whether they have applied for it or not. So, to cope up from all these unwanted circumstances the council have finally decided to bring in the online system.

All the students need to cooperate with the government and the board because all these are done to create a fair environment for the students. The students need to stay focused on their work and concentrate in their study. The mode of examination should not bother the student. These are part and parcel. Moreover, all the necessary steps will be followed by the government, council and the schools to help the student achieve their goal and to get through this new system smoothly. The students just need to cooperate with them all and give their best to get the best results.

At Matrix JEE Academy, we will take care of the students, their problems and difficulties. The students will be provided with proper guidance and they will secure a good grip over the new system. Various new techniques and methodology will be introduced for the betterment of the students.
