NEET PG Counselling 2023 Schedule and Important Dates
NEET PG counselling 2023 is going on for admission for 50% state quota seats and 50% AIQ (All India Quota) seats. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has changed the counselling schedule on Thursday, August 3. Also, candidates can fill up their choices till 10 AM on 4th August.

NEET PG Counselling revised schedule by MCC: NEET PG Counselling dates 2023
Initially, the deadline for NEET PG Counselling 2023 registration was 1st August, and students could fill the choice by 2nd August. However, as per the revised schedule for NEET PG Counselling 2023, the registration and fee payment date was extended to 3rd August, and the choice filling portal was made open for edit by 4th August. The result will be declared on 5th August.

Stray Seat Round: What if you fail to report to the allocated institute
After these 3 rounds of counselling, if some seats remain vacant, there will be a stray vacancy round. For the stray round, candidates can register from 28 to 30th September, and choice filling for institutes and courses will take place between 29th September to 1st October.
Seat allotment will happen on the 2nd and 3rd October, the final result will be declared on the 4th October. Those who get any seat in the stray round must report to the allotted institute from 6th to 10th October without fail.
In case of a candidate fails to report to the allocated institute after he/she gets a seat in the stray vacancy round, the candidate will be debarred from the same and upcoming NEET PG counselling, and his/her security money of ₹50000 will not be refunded. The same has happened with around 47 candidates as they did not report after they got seats in the stray vacancy round in NEET PG counselling 2022.
Important: NEET PG Counselling Fee 2023 & Category Change Rules
Candidates participating in the NEET PG counselling 2023 must pay a counselling fee. For 50% AIQ, the net payable amount of the fee will be ₹1000 for students belonging to the general category and ₹500 for SC/ST/OBC candidates. For deemed universities, there will be an equal fee of ₹5000 for candidates from all the categories.
What about category change?
Candidates have the option to change their category. Those who have filled SC/ST/OBC/PH category by mistake can change their category till 1st round of NEET PG counselling. If a candidate changes his category from SC/ST/OBC/PH to UR (general), no further changes can be made. It will be considered UR throughout the counselling.

Ques. Will there be any state counselling for NEET PG 2023?
Ans: Currently, counselling will happen for 50% of total seats belonging to the AIQ (All India Quota), counselling authorities of respective states will then conduct counselling for state quota seats and 100% of seats of private institutes.
Ques. Can I apply for both the All India Quota and state quota for NEET PG counselling?
Ans: Yes, you can apply for both of the quotas. Applying for state quota simultaneously will give you more chances of securing a seat as there is less competition compared to AIQ.
Ques. What is the benefit of state quota?
Ans: The biggest benefit is that you won’t have to go to another state as medical colleges under state quota have 85% of seats reserved for home-state students.
